CoD-style development 'has been huge' for

Although the Need for Speed games have still been coming in thick and fast lately, Black Box has actually been working on new entry The Run for a number of years. In an interview with CVG EA Black Box's Jason DeLong, jimmy choo outlet, who is also senior producer on The Run, was asked how important breaking out of the yearly cycle was to the development team.He replied by calling the move a huge step that allows Black Box to take the necessary steps to ensure The Run is the highest quality product it can be."It was huge for us and I think that was the great thing the company recognised, Black Box was doing Need for Speed year over year between Underground, Underground 2, Most Wanted and so on," he said."At a certain point when you have to put these games out year after year you don't have time to reinvest in yourself, neither in your team or your technology," he explained.DeLong went on to praise EA for recognising that the extra time is a necessity by adopting "a split studio development, similar to what Activision did with Call of Duty and Treyarch and Infinity Ward".In the same interview DeLong also said he believes that the decline in the racing game genre were not helped by 'innovations'. Twisted Metal was originally supposed to ship on October 4, 2011 but according to a post on by Jaffe on the PlayStation Blog, jimmy choo outlet, the developers at Eat Sleep Play are "just not ready yet.""It sucks bad when games miss their announced launch dates," said Jaffe. "We’re gamers too and we know how annoying it is. It’s disappointing and frustrating and it really takes the wind out of your sails if you’re a fan that has been looking forward to playing a title for a long time." Jaffe affirms that the Twisted Metal game that ships will be the best Twisted Metal ever made, and they only want to ship the best product. As someone who is used to waiting very, very long for great games to come out (ahem, The Last Guardian and Diablo 3) I think it's a good idea when developers hold on to their titles a little bit longer in order to ship out something that will exceed expectations. Home Scheduled maintenance before zombie

More zombie hordes are on their way to Home, but not before the service goes offline tomorrow for maintenance. EU users won't be able to log into the service from 8am BST tomorrow, when it will go down for an unspecified duration. But once it comes back online, Sony says a zombie attack will be imminent. "We have unconfirmed reports of a second wave of zombies ravaging the once peaceful island resort of Banoi this week as the undead virus continues to thrive," says the PS Blog. "It is as yet unknown how far the virus has spread throughout PlayStation Home and authorities advise stocking up on the weaponry now available at the local store before leaving the area."Elsewhere in the update, you'll find a new Sodium-themed Silicon Lounge in the Lockwood Publishing store, new Alice Cooper items in the AAA store, paintball outfits and more. Hit up the PS Blog (link below) for loads more info on that. But don't expect anything on Sony's EU plans for the Home overhaul it announced for US earlier this week. That update goes sadly unmentioned. Mike Jackson
