Jesse James Pays Up After Bloody Dog Attack

6/8/2011 12:40 AM PDTby TMZ Staff A pitbull belonging to Jesse James escaped from the reality star's Texas bike shop this weekend andattacked another dog being walked in the area -- nearly killing the innocent animal ... TMZ has learned. TMZ spoke with a rep from Animal Control in Austin, TX -- who confirms cops were dispatched to the scene after Jesse's dog -- not Cinnabun -- went after a corgi named Buckley and chomped down on his neck.  We're told the person walking Buckley freaked out -- and began punching the pit bull in the face because it wouldn't let go of the corgi. Eventually, cops arrived to the scene and freed Buckley -- who was rushed to a nearby vet for emergency care. Buckley had to be sedated and stitched up -- and doctors inserted a drainage tube into his neck to prevent infection. After the incident, Buckley's owner got in touch with Jesse's assistant -- who eventually forked over $250 to cover the vet bill. We're told Jesse has also promised to cover any additional medical expenses.

Florence Henderson -- Mrs. Brady's Crabs Defense

6/29/2011 12:02 AM PDTby TMZ Staff Florence Henderson from "The Brady Bunch" tells us there's more to her story about getting crabs from a former NYC mayor -- and we say ... Mrs. Brady's been a bad, bad girl. Check out TMZ on TV -- click here to see your local listings!

Charlie Harper Dies Tragic Death

6/27/2011 1:17 PM PDTby TMZ Staff "Two and a Half Men" will turn dark for just a minute or two when it premieres in September ... because Alan and Jake will learn Charlie Harper bit the dust.Sources connected with the show tell TMZ ... Chuck Lorre's plan is to make sure Charlie Sheen can NEVER come back on the show.  Although the first show won't be filmed until August 5, producers have been kicking around scenarios, which include Charlie driving a car over a cliff.  Of course, it would be art imitating life, because two of Charlie Sheen's cars went down a cliff on Mulholland Drive. As for how Ashton Kutcher enters the picture, there's been talk that he buys Charlie's house after Charlie kicks the bucket.Sources tell us ... the first script still isn't locked and Lorre often makes changes until close to taping, but it's pretty clear -- Charlie Harper is pushin' up daisies.

Mod Mark No worries!

Mod Mark: We have a variety of PvP-specific servers now where players can battle across the entirety of Gielinor rather than sticking to the wilderness. We also have more focused wilderness PvP servers called Bounty Hunter worlds where players can earn even more generous PvP rewards by chasing specific targets. There are also unique PvP items and equipment currently worth millions on the Grand Exchange - our global trading arena.。

OnRPG: The RuneScape forums are a buzz of activity where players can discuss what they like and don't like about the game. Has Dungeoneering been a direct response to player wishes?
 。

OnRPG: RuneScape has enjoyed phenomenal success over the past nine years. It's safe to say that it's the largest, most feature packed browser-based MMORPG out there, you must be pretty happy about that!
 。

 。

Mod Mark: Not currently, but we do have the facility to do that. We are aware that our player base are split on whether that's a good idea or not and we are weighing up all of the options.。

Mod Mark: 14 months of design and 8 months of implementation.。

Browser Based but plays smooth, like a client-based MMO!。

Mod Mark: In the pipeline right now we're working on a 3-part quest looking at the various orders of Knight within the game, culminating with the release of a brand new minigame. We are also working on the conclusion of one of our oldest storylines, called The Mysteries of the Mahjarrat.。

OnRPG: It seems that free players are getting access to many more features than ever before. Are there any more updates in the pipeline that affect free players?
 。

 。

OnRPG: Are there plans to increase other skill levels to this new cap?
 。

RuneScape Interview: The Dungeons of Daemonheim
Questions by Neil Kewn (Murxidon) - OnRPG journalist
Answered by
- Mark Ogilvie (Mod Mark) - Lead Designer, RuneScape,
- Chihiro Yamada (Mod Chihiro) - Lead Tech, RuneScape,
- Christoph Vietzke (Mod Fetzki) - Head of RuneScape and
- Paul Mayer (Mod Paul_M) - Community Management Team Leader, RuneScape。

Another example is looking up.  There is nothing in the engine that stops us from allowing the player to look up now, but we don't let players do it, because in order to keep the polygon count of our models as low as we can, most models don't have a bottom.  We're not going to have time to add bottoms to every object in the game any time soon, I'm afraid, so I'm afraid you won't see the sun in Gielinor for the foreseeable future.。

 。

 。

OnRPG: It's no secret that many MMO players choose to level their characters by dungeon running, and this is now a possibility in the realm of RuneScape. Is Dungeoneering an attempt to compete with the client-based MMORPGs in terms of team-based gameplay?
 。

 。

Mod Mark: In my experience the dungeons you're describing are exactly the same map, challenge and overall experience, with perhaps some cosmetic variety in NPC placement and type. That is an entirely different experience to that had within the Dungeons of Daemonheim and the Dungeoneering skill. Our main motivation was to add exploration and adventure back into skills training, not to provide instances to train in. Therefore the jigsaw -style creation system we use, coupled with the risk-reward equation I mentioned above provides a genuinely unique environment every time you play. I am unfamiliar with any other MMO that even attempts to do that.。

 。

Mod Fetzki: Yes, we are proud that we never sit back and say "RuneScape is fine as it is".  We don't stand still and we will keep adding new features almost every week, polish existing content and updating the graphics on an ongoing basis.。3. The dungeon system uses a complex points equation that helps us to accurately measure risk and reward challenges within the dungeon. If we know exactly what the player has been provided with in the starting rooms we can accurately balance the challenge the player will face within the dungeon. If we allowed gear, we couldn't do that.。 。

OnRPG: Dungeoneering is a new skill that has gathered much attention. Can you tell us what it is?
 。

Mod Mark:。1. We believe that the action of 'kitting up' is a great piece of gameplay. If you're in a dungeon and you know you have to make kit to deal with the monsters you're meeting, it's actually quite motivating and gives you clear objectives within the dungeon.。

 。

 。

Dungeons in RuneScape。

 。

 。

OnRPG: How important is it to keep the content updates original? It must be tempting to snag an idea or two from the more commercial, client based MMOs!
 。

Mod Chihiro: Oh, yes. The way the engine works clearly limits the scope of some of the projects we do - but those kinds of limits we understand pretty well now, and we know how to avoid them.  The limitations that I come across most often are 'legacy' issues.  The engine already has features we'd like to use, but cannot incorporate into RuneScape because of the maintenance work that would be needed to implement them.。

However, we had to shelve it because of the way our graphics have been built.  Historically the game has been modeled and animated assuming a player will never see actors on levels other than their own.  So with multilevel switched on we ended up with NPCs or players poking through floors when certain animations were run or when long weapons were wielded. It looked buggy and horrible.  The only way we could have prevented this would be either to rework the hundreds of offending models and animations or to remodel all our buildings so that each floor was tall enough for it not to matter. Arg!。

OnRPG: Dungeoneering is the first skill that can be leveled past 99, up to 120. What is the reason for this?
。2. It gives additional value to the secondary 'creation' skills in the game, encouraging a player to train skills like Smithing and Runecrafting, or find players that have those skills to help them out inside the dungeons.。

Mod Mark: We always listen to our playerbase and encourage all our developers to take time out on our forums and engage with the users. The idea of adventure and exploration is a subject we had discussed in the past. A forum post called "Here Be Dragons" was one of my favourites of all time and spoke passionately about the lack of adventure in MMOs because of the inherently 'grindy' aspect of XP gain.  It was one of the inspirations behind the Dungeoneering skill. That and the fact that many of us here at JAGEX are 'oldskool' RPG and board game fans and wanted to add that group adventure-feel to our game.。

 。

Mod Paul_M: While I do think that team based tasks and games like Dungeoneering do get players together and help build that welcoming atmosphere, there's more to it than that I think which basically comes down to improving the visibility of what's already there. Having a stronger presence on the forums, focusing our in game moderators to be more community oriented and holding events to highlight existing communities is all very important. Introducing new players to different styles of play and catering to those styles by making them easily visible and accessible is also key so that whatever you're into, there's a community of likeminded players there for you. A quick example for you would be Clans. Clans are notoriously 'cliquey' in RPGs but thanks to a month-long series of events that introduced people to the clan environment, we've seen many more spring up in RuneScape and existing clans have seen their ranks swell.。

                              。

 。

OnRPG: The new dungeon aspect of the game is a huge update for players of RuneScape. How long has it been in development?
 。

RuneScape is a 3D browser-based MMORPG from British developers Jagex. Almost ten years since its original inception, we chat to the faces behind the game and discuss PvP, monster slaying, level caps and that seemingly endless stream of updates. With the hotly anticipated Dungeoneering skill now available for both free and paying players, what's next for what has become the world's most popular free MMORPG?。

Mod Mark: All the work we are doing to improve the early game experience applies to the free game. Generally they are reworks to existing content rather than brand new content, but we do have some really corking ideas planned. I can't say more than that now, sorry.。

Mastering several skills。

OnRPG: Naturally, RuneScape is a browser based game and although you continuously push the boundaries of what Java can do, have there been any updates or features that you would like to add to the game, but have been unable to due to web, Java or other limitations?
 。

OnRPG: PvP is a hugely important factor in any MMORPG. RuneScape has changed the mechanics of its PvP significantly in recent years, what options are available for the more bloodthirsty players?
 。

For example, the engine team came up with a way of allowing players and NPCs to be visible from levels other than the one the player is on. So you could stand at the top of Lumbridge Castle and see the players and NPCs walking around in the courtyard below. It looked great and added a lot of atmosphere. I really wanted to add this to the game.。

Mod Chihiro:  It depends slightly on what you mean by 'downloadable client' - we already provide one, but it does little more than remove the requirement to have Java installed and a browser window open.  If you mean a 'large' client that you download once (like WoW or Steam games for example), rather than a thin client that you download each time you log in (which is how RuneScape works now) then I doubt we'll change this.。

We make changes to the client so often that it makes little sense - you'd still have to download patches after each update, and because our client is so small we might as well provide you with the whole thing anyway.  Otherwise we'd have to start worrying about patch compatibility, or handling differing versions of the client, which would be more effort than it's worth.。

OnRPG: What can Gielinor adventurers look forward to in the near future?
 。

 。

OnRPG: Despite being arguably the most recognisable browser based MMORPG, are there any plans to bring RuneScape to the desktop in the form of a downloadable client?
 。

OnRPG: Players are barred from using their own gear when leveling Dungeoneering; instead they are provided with equipment. What brought you to this decision?
 。

 。

OnRPG: RuneScape has been criticised in the past for not having a particularly welcoming community. Are you hoping that team-oriented minigames, tasks and skills (such as Dungeoneering) improve player relations?
 。

 。

 。

Mod Mark: No worries! 。

Mod Mark: We wanted part of our game to be universally seen as 'endgame'. We feel that the upper floors of Dungeoneering will provide that endgame feel.。

 。

 。

 。

 。

Mod Mark: In a nutshell, the Dungeoneering skill allows a player to create a unique experience for them and their friends. It uses a huge library of rooms, puzzles, monsters, rewards and challenges to build a sprawling dungeon complex to explore, culminating in an epic boss fight at the end. For me, it puts the adventure back into RuneScape. No dungeon is ever the same since it uses a jigsaw approach to design, building the dungeon as you explore piece by piece. The skill unlocks a variety of rewards for the new and the experienced player to be used in the rest of RuneScape.。

 。

OnRPG: Thank you for your time!
 。

 。

Mod Mark: Hugely important. We have always seen ourselves as trend setters, not trend followers. However we encourage our developers to be inspired by games, books and experiences they have themselves (as any good designer should be) so you will notice some similarities to other things out there, just not necessarily MMOs.。 。

 。

With regards to training, in reality it's still far more efficient to train specific skills on the surface world - we didn't want to replace the surface content with the Dungeoneering skill, only complement it. The total XP you gain within the dungeon is comparable to surface training, but then generally you're only training specific skills on the surface as opposed to the wide range of skills you train and use in the dungeon.

Starcraft 2 Journey to Diamond League Wk4

。

Win/Loss: 13 / 6。

I'm back for another week of Starcraft 2 goodness and ready to make a recovery after my miserable showing in week 3 of my Journey to the Diamond League. If you missed my last update, you can check it out HERE. I studied up all the pros' videos over the weekend and went into each match this week with tactics, map awareness, and build orders ready to go.。

 。

My next opponent was a Zerg who was trying out the Day[9] Funday Monday. Day[9] is a very popular Starcraft caster and has his own show. Each Monday he sets special limitations for players and players try to play with those limitations. The best matches are commented on his show. This week the limitation was that Zerg could only attack on creep. Knowing this I continued to expand and gain an economic lead since I knew he could not attack me. I had a huge lead in income with a gold base and ended up winning the game.。

 。

 。

Games played: 19。

 。

 。

 。

Due to the season 2 lock, no real progress will be seen until the beginning of Season 3. Instead of gaining ranks as intended, I dropped from rank 5 to rank 8 and have just barely returned to rank 7 today. Overall I would say that playing very late at night has gotten the better of me the last 2 weeks. The sleepier you get, the slower your reaction time.。

 。

Initial Rank: Bronze - 8。

。

Final Rank: Bronze - 7。

 。

 。

Although I had a positive win to loss ratio, I did not achieve my goal of rank 4. I was busy throughout the whole week and had little time to play before I went to sleep. At the end of the week I was just one to three wins away from achieving rank 5 because ranks 5 to 8 were very close in points.。

By Mohammad Abubakr, OnRPG Journalist。

The following game against a Protoss has to be the strangest game I have ever played. At the beginning of the game he continued to attack with Zealots. I held off the attacks and continued to drone because I thought I was in the lead. However, the Protoss player set up cannons to take out destructible metal very early on and setup a hidden base. Since my opponent was only sending Zealots my way and did not even use warp gate technology, I did not suspect anything when I saw no expansion as I thought it was a new player. Underestimating my opponent cost me the game because he had three undetected star ports at his hidden base while I had no anti air. After destroying his main, I finally realized about his hidden expansion because he was smart to not reveal his air units. There were too many cannons and void rays for me to finish him off. I was forced to concede. While he did have an interesting strategy, if I had scouted his expansion earlier it would have been an easy victory. I cannot believe I lost to that!。

 。

。

 。

However losses were heavy on both sides. I continued to expand my bases and produce workers while denying my opponent from getting a third expansion. I had a huge economic lead as the game progressed because his bases were beginning to dry up on minerals. Near the end game my army consisted of roaches, banelings and infestors while he had marines, thors and tanks. I split my army’s focus so that the roaches killed the tanks, banelings killed the marines and infestors mind controlled the thors. My army was too strong for my opponent and he was forced to concede. I love Neural Parasite.。

I finally got the chance to play a long and epic macro game. As I had mentioned during previous weeks, longer macro games seldom happen at the lower level because my opponents tend to try and end games quickly. During this game I had the honor to attack first. My army consisting of roaches, banelings and Zerglings were broken by a grand formation of marines and tanks.。

My first game this week went great. I was up against a Terran player that refused to expand. The only time he expanded his base was when his main base ran out of resources. I knew he would eventually have to expand so I waited it out and denied every attempt at expansion! He was never able to successfully expand and slowly ran out of money. It did take some time because I only had ground units so his banshees got annoying. However, after my Hydralisks Den was complete the game was over. Let us just hope the rest of the week goes well; I need to make up for last week.。

R.O.S.E

Tried ROSE for a few days, won't be back. The game has great potential but more time on game interface and less on graphics would have been a major advancement.

The characters' equipment is kind of cool in a younge teenage way. You can make your character 'pretty pimp' with some effort. The monsters and all around feel made me think of renaming the game to "Candyland", very immature. As an adult I felt over ran with 'kiddies'. I have a horrible graphics card but I was able to play and was happy with the graphics for items, equipment etc...visually the game is easy to read.

Lots of items, weapons, armor...you get the idea...

I must stress I personally hated the camera view, you must constantly adjust when you move. I think I spent more time adjusting to see what was in front of me then having fun.

I also hated that Gm's seemed to be non-exsistant. Offensive names were easy to find as well as language.

The servers are consistantly 'extended' and lag was a major factor in busy areas.

The game interface was far more complicated then it needed to be. As for a game manual....Even if some explanations were vague because of translation...it was still a joke.

Bottomline: To say this game is only in testing stage is an understatment. This game brings a new meaning to 'user UNfriendly' and with the immature feel and the average gamer age of 14...it's hellish for those over age 18. At 29, it was pure terror.

Blackshot Tactics Kill

One thing about these first person shooter games is that they don't really differ much from one another. Some have better graphics, some have more versionsof the same playstyle, your choice. MMOFPSes are one of the most awesome casual games to have on your PC, giving you non-linear experience of deaths and kills, depending on your enemies (whether they're that good or not). What's great about this specific genre is the skill factor involved. This means that even though you have a 1 shot kill sniper rifle on your hands, other people can still beat you with a handgun if you don't know how to use it. Anyway, instead of focusing on their similarities, let's see what makes this game different in its own way.。

 。

 。

 。

 。

Blackshot Tactics: Kill。

Perfecting Strategies。

The bad:
- Old graphics
- Nothing here is that new to consider it DIFFERENT
- A few bugs here and there.。

4) TDM- Finally an acronym that hasn't been touched. For those of you who don't know, TDM stands for Team Death Match-- the default system in any FPS multiplayer. Just as the name suggests, teams must take part in a glorious battle to attain the most frags. KICK THE FEEDERS!。

 。

Character Creation。

Some boost your HP, some gives you extra accuracy aimbot like advantages when using sniper rifles, and others boost your grenade radius. It really depends on which one you choose to make your character more formidable so think about which tactic to pursue. Gaining ranks also increases your selection when attaining new weapons, so gear up and fight more. Another factor you should consider is your character's armor, which prevents you from getting killed fast thus becoming the feeder that eventually leads your team on the losing end.。

3) DA- Awesome! We seem to have stumbled across a very unique feature. DA mode is the same as horde mode and fire fight in Halo ODST and Gears of War. It feels a lot like Left 4 Dead as well, since you'll be teaming up with 3 more players (optional) in a first person tower defense scenario. So far, this mode is a Blackshot exclusive. It's also extremely fun, so you might want to download the game to try it out.。

 。

 。

2) SD- The SD scenario is the game's renamed version of the old plant the bomb scenario. If you're familiar with Counter-Strike, then you will probably have a big blast with this game mode (no pun intended). So far, nothing has been changed with the system. It's still the same Plant the Bomb scenario stated 10 years ago.。

BlackShot Review - BLOOD AND GOOOOOREE!!
By Kei Beneza (dividelife), OnRPG Journalist。

 。

 。

Blackshot Online has 4 different gamemodes:。

MMOFPSes are no longer new, nor do they differ that much from one another. In my opinion, each game attains loyalty either by community or loyalty, definitely not through their systems (in my opinion at least). Blackshot online does have a few perks that separates it from other games like Combat Arms and Warrock, but it definitely provides the same experience catered by the other games in its respective genre. This isn't really something that should prevent you from playing the game; in fact, I'd like to encourage you to try it out. It's a good casual game, and perhaps a good way to relieve stress.... KILL EM ALL!。

1) TDF- TDF is basically capture the flag. In this mode, players must work together in order to take the enemy's flag to gain points. Note that each kill gives you points as well, but capturing the flag gives you more points than killing people. The team with the most points when time runs out or the first team to reach the given point mark wins.。

(teamspeak with cursing makes it x2 the fun)。

Blackshot graphics are bearable but not as impressive as its counterparts. If I must compare, Blackshot's visuals are like a toned down version of Combat Arms. The graphics aren't that bad and the game still plays well (just wanna clear that up) regardless of the nerfed graphics. Even if you're the graphic type of player, the game still isn't that bad to keep you from admiring the view.。

If you're looking for a good MMOFPS (Massively Multiplayer Online First Person Shooter) game then I suggest you try BlackShot. Much like its counterparts in the FPS genre, Blackshot takes players into an arena of wanton murder and bulletmadness. Not much has changed since the era of Counterstrike and Quake 3. You will be given some scenarios aside from the deathmatch setting, or other scenarios that are merely just renamed or tampered versions of capture the flag and plant the bomb. So what exactly makes Blackshot review stand out among its counterparts, let alone its predecessors?。

Not contented with your firearms? Are you not comfortable with your MP5? Then come on over to the item shop to find the right gun for you! Much like any other MMOFPS to date, BlackShot online lets players groom their soldiers as they level up through endless combat experience. Note that ranking up or leveling up helps a lot in this game. First of all, it allows you to get additional skills known as TACTICS that will further compliment your playstyle. Take it as the perks (Call of Duty) of Blackshot Online, where you give your character extra gimmicks to make the game more interesting both in group and individual perspectives.。

 。

 。

 。

 。

 。

 。

The good:
- Lots of arenas
- DA mode is still awesome
- Lots of wepons to choose from
- Healthy community.。

 。

 。

After each game, the points are tallied and you will be presented with the player rankings to see how much you rocked and sucked during the match. I know the game has 4 game modes to choose from, and each of them has a good set of maps to prevent you from experiencing a linear set of matches while playing the game. The game also has a decent number of maps with different sniper points and assault points, so master them all and gain the upper advantage.。
